( Full Time ) The Sight Center / D'Onofrio Family Eye Care , is seeking a energetic, people person to join our eye care team.
Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate who is willing to learn the skills required.
Our practice provides opportunities to make a positive impact with patients as well as self development and growth.
Main Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide custom frame selections based on doctor's recommendation and patient's visual and lifestyle needs.
Perform frame selection, adjustments, and measurements on all groups.
-Understanding in spectacle lens material options and verification.
-Understanding in contact lens options, Instruction on insertion and removal of contact lenses.
-Submit optical lab orders and contact lens orders.
-Submit billing and eyewear material orders to vision plans.
-Frame board management, maintain optical inventory.
-Understand and perform prescreen testing, diagnostic testing, gather patient information prior to patient seeing doctor.
-Basic computer skills, understand patient data input into electronic medical records.
-Basic phone skills, customer service skills.
-Willingness to learn new skills as position and technology evolves.
We are a small office, willingness to cross - train and assist as needed with other duties, such as :
-Answering phones with a professional and friendly demeanor.
-Appointment scheduling.
-Verifying and checking on patient insurance coverage / eligibility.
-Coordinating incoming and outgoing patients.
- Recalling established patients for regular eye wellness exams.
Basic
Qualifications:
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience working directly in optical field as optician, ophthalmic technician OR strong experience in customer service, retail, working with the public will be considered for the right candidate Strong desire to continuously learn and improve while working in a team environment.
Position requires strong basic math skills.
Strong computer skills a plus.
Use of basic word processing and ability to learn the Electronic Medical Record software.
Experience in using social media for business is a PLUS.
Excellent customer service , interpersonal skills is required.
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is a must.

The candidate's compensation will be based on their ability to perform within the office.
